Mobiles!

I happened to be checking out one of my favorite design blogs, Creature Comforts, and came across this fabulous post! The mobile she has featured is so wonderful that it prompted me to dedicate an entire entry to mobiles!

Remember making these at school with a coat hanger and some string? Things sure have come a long way since then!!

I have been tagged!

Whatever that means! Well, this is what it means, I guess:
The rules are as follows:
1. Link to the person’s blog who tagged you.
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. List seven random and/or weird facts about yourself.
4. Tag seven random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by posting on comment on their blog.

I will try to follow the rules...
1. I have been tagged by 2 people on their blogs: Kellie and Katie!

2. I posted the rules above.

3. #1: Weird: When I am at a restaurant, bar, cafe, coffee shop, etc., my back must not be to the door. I need a clear view of my exit or I am extremely uncomfortable.
#2: Weird: I am double-jointed...so I can hold my hands behind my back and bring them over my head to the front...still holding my hands. Does that make sense? Try it to see what I mean.
#3 : Weird: I am repulsed by the sound of brushing teeth, clipping finger/toe nails, and chewing.
#4: Random: I prefer laying on a beach and doing nothing over a trip jam-packed w/ activities.
#5: Random: I love most reality tv...the trashier, the better.
#6: Weird/Random: I was voted "Most Unforgettable" in high school.
#7: Weird/Random: My sister and I share birthdays and she is 5 years older. My dad and my husband's dad share birthdays. My parents' anniversary is the same day as my husband's mother's birthday. Crazy!

4. Now to tag people:
Hmmm...can I tag people already tagged?..I'm assuming no..but I have no idea. I also do not know who actually reads this thing! I am tagging Jaz, Dear Diary :), Brandi, Bryn, Nisha, Natalie (even though she doesn't post anymore), and Court! I'm sorry!! :)

5. I'm off to spread the news!

Not your average tape!

As you know from my obsession with wrapping gifts, I am always trying to find a new way to dress up the presents I give!

How about a nice chic gift with lace tape? Karl Zahn designed this beautiful find which can be purchased through the Boiler Design Office. Available in black or white, this tape is sure to make any project special.

Check out this Making Memories Packaging Tape from Create for Less! Wouldn't it be great to wrap a gift in a solid colored paper and use this tape dress up your present?

Perhaps you want something with a little funk. Consider this graphic tape from Fred Flare!

Maybe one of these is your thing or maybe not. Whatever you decide, keep it interesting!

Knobs!

I have a dresser in my bedroom that was once my grandmother's. It wasn't an antique, so don't freak out, but I painted it white and put clear glass knobs on it. This was almost ten years ago and I still have and love the dresser. My husband, on the other hand, thinks it's time to either spiff it up or purchase a new one. I think I will keep it and see what I can do.

Take a look at these knobs from Anthropologie:

I think any one of these could really add to the piece and give me a few more years. Any thoughts? I know it would help if you could actually see the dresser, but my camera needs new batteries. If I remember to post a picture of it later, I will.

I think I have fallen in love with the first one. It probably would not work in our bedroom, but perhaps in a guest room...

'Insert Coin' shelving!

Once again, I feel like the last one to find out about something!

Create your own look by inserting shelves in the slots! Check these out! Aren't they fantastic? What a great way to make shelving stimulating, rather than boring and predictable!

In love with an artist!

While looking through this month's domino, I was immediately drawn to the art work found in one of the rooms in one of their articles! Take a look at this photo and take note of the fabulous art to the left. This abstract piece is the work of Andrew Enna. As a huge abstract art fan, I am in love!

Be sure to take a look at Andrew's website for more of his work!

Weego Home!

There are so many spectacular things at Weego Home, that nothing I can say about it will even really do it justice! And I do not say that often. I am so inspired by the designs and ideas that come out of this place! I don't know how this is my first time stumbling across it.

In addition to purchasing furniture and accessories, you can also take advantage of Weego Home's interior design services (I suppose you must live in Santa Monica, CA for these services). They have three design packages from which to choose.

Just take a look and see for yourself:

Make sure you browse Weego Home's site. I promise you will find something fabulous!

[After publishing this post, I did a quick Google search of Weego Home and yep..I'm apparently the last one to know about this place! Oh well.]

Egg plants?

Could this be any more precious? It's an herb garden that comes in an egg and it's only $12! Check out this adorable find from Branch:

Just follow Branch's instructions (shown below) and watch them grow!

To plant: gently tap with a spoon to break open the top of the egg. Water the enclosed soil (in which the seeds are already embedded), and place the egg in the sun. Soon you'll have a miniature herb garden!

I think I'm in love!!

Inspired by a cupcake?

I came across this cupcake yesterday evening and I think I must have been dreaming about it! I woke up with ideas of designing a bedroom with that cupcake as my muse. Strange?

Then I took it to a new level and decided this cupcake inspired my perfect chilly morning:

...sipping a cup of hot chocolate, in my warm fuzzy robe, reading this month's Metropolitan Home! All of that from a cupcake!
