| my first sewing book |
Two years ago (or was it three?), I decided I really wanted to learn to sew.  I convinced my husband that I NEEDED a sewing machine and he fell for it.  I got it for Christmas and his brother got me sewing books (one of them shown to the left) for Christmas that year.  I am ashamed to admit that I have really only used the machine twice and have maybe flipped through the books three times.  I am also ashamed that I tend to get really excited about a project and then lose interest rather quickly, like Rudy from The Cosby Show (I think it was Rudy).  This is going to change...now.  I have decided that I will not start something without a plan to finish it.  I am going to set goals for myself and will achieve them.  ...starting with opening one of my books and getting going on a project!
I am really hoping I am not the only one who has these great ideas in my head, plans them out in such great detail that I feel like I have actually completed the project, so I lose interest because I am so mentally exhausted from all of the planning.  I am not sure that even makes sense to anyone but me.  Ha!
Just looking at pictures of this shop, inspires me to get moving on this sewing thing, so I plan to stare at them daily:

I wish I knew how to sew too, but unfortunately, I'm not nearly as motivated as you. Go for it, girl!
I've gotcha beat! I have had my machine for 9 years! Yes, I said, "9 years!" Perhaps this will inspire me to dust it off and actually use it. LOL!
