We have a new baby!
What's funny is I had planned last week to have a post titled, "If only I had a baby!" Well, now we have one! His name is Brody and he is a four-month-old German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix! We just adopted him on Sunday and I could not be more in love with the little guy!! He looks so big in the pictures, but he's actually pretty small!
Here he was asleep by my side while I was writing yesterday's entry! The little booger is my shadow! I love it!
Okay, so back to the "If only I had a baby post." If only I had a human baby, these would be just perfect, don't you think??

Rewind back to 1999!
Growing up I always had an interest in interior design. One weekend while my parents were away, I stayed with my aunt and uncle and we decided it would be a perfect time to repaint my bedroom! We painted the trim in two different colors, painted the walls, and I thought it was perfect. I think my mom had other thoughts when she saw what we had done, but I was pleased with our work! :)
I was constantly rearranging my room, changing the posters on my wall, making collages and framing them, etc. I loved designing my space using what I had...even if it was clippings from BOP magazine!
I mentioned in my profile that I had a style file. This folder had pictures that I ripped out of magazines, articles I found intriguing, color swatches/patterns I loved, etc. Recently I took a trip through that file again and was kind of shocked that my ideas of style really haven't changed! I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but oh well!
Take a look at what spaces I fell in love with in 1999:

Hallelujah!
Since the theme of this blog is "a girl's search for things that please," let's truly please all of our senses! I am quite sure you have heard this wonderful piece before, but why not hear it again. This is my favorite rendition of Hallelujah.
Please take just a little over six minutes of your life, sit back, close your eyes, and enjoy. Just listen to Hallelujah, performed by K.D. Lang:

Coasters!
Coasters, to me, are fun little works of art that I constantly need to change, so when my three-year-old nephew broke two of mine a few weeks ago, it was no big deal because it meant I could go on a hunt for new, fresh ones! Score!
Check out some of my finds:
Modern-Twist coasters from Velocity
Red Designer Coasters from Home Contrast
coasters in starburst pattern chocolate, parrot cay yellow, and new diamond pattern green from Iomoi

Gorgeous Outdoor Spaces!
I truly believe that the exterior spaces of your home (or apartment, condo, or town home) are an extension of your living space. If you have a yard, even a tiny one, use it! Maybe you only have a tiny balcony...use it! Perhaps it's just a space just outside your front door...USE IT!
Take a look at these spectacular spaces and get inspired to make your outdoor spaces beautiful, functional, and most of all...your own!

Journals!
Do you have a journal? Some blogs, I guess, could be considered an online journal, but do you have an actual journal? I have several, but I don't really use them for daily entries about life, but more so as a way of keeping my thoughts and ideas organized.
I have a gratitude journal, that I started after reading The Secret. I have a home journal that has layouts of each of the rooms in my house and lists of projects that I would like to accomplish in each room. I also have a journal that stays next to my bed, so that when random thoughts come to me as I am about to fall asleep (which they often do), I can quickly jot them down.
I think journals are a wonderful way of keeping memories close to you, getting out emotions, or simply just a place to write about absolutely nothing.
